Junior Board Debuts
New NJAA Logo, Announces LEAD Dates
In their first meeting since elections in July, the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) Board of Directors approved a new NJAA logo, established a career development contest, discussed potential fundraising and scholarship opportunities, and set important meeting dates and locations.
The 12-member board met Sept. 25-27 at American Angus Association headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo., where they:
• replaced the Senior Poster Contest with a Career Development Contest;
• established Ames, Iowa, and Reno, Nev., as locations for the spring 2010 “Raising the Bar”;
• set the Leaders Engaged in Angus Development (LEAD) Conference for Aug. 5-8 in Nashville, Tenn.;
• discussed utilizing the NJAA Facebook fan page to upload photos and make posts each month; and
• furthered plans for a 30-year reunion of current and past NJAA Board Directors at the 2010 National Junior Angus Show.
The
next scheduled meeting for the NJAA Board of Directors is Nov. 18 in
Louisville, Ky., in conjunction with the North American International Livestock
Exposition. The NJAA promotes involvement of Angus cattle, while enhancing
leadership and development skills for its nearly 7,000 junior members. For more
